For the Sake of a Cleaner Future!
This weekend in the tourist pearl of Ukraine – Lviv City was held Eco-hackathon, which brought together about thirty active people who have a real vision of positive changes in ecological sphere, using IT-startups. A wonderful event was organized by the Good Deeds ICF in a comfortable and productive coworking «Betaplace».
Among the mentors who guided “creative passion” members were known, respected and well-known IT professionals, including: Stanislav Drozd, Anna Masurenko – business analyst SoftServe, Jasper Lindholt – founder of IT company Livatek, Taras Khoma – representative of Lviv Business School, Peter Nak – Yandex browser in.
As a result of environmental IT event 6 actual projects were created: 3 mobile applications, 1 web platform, 2 hardware-developments. Mentors and organizers noted good results of participants, their perseverance, and prospect for the further implementation of the developments. Participants, for their part, appreciated the high level of hackathon, pleasant and useful prizes and awards.
The winner of the first Eco-hackathon was the team «Garbage Collector», with representatives Dmitry Plehotkina, Alexander Semenov, Yaroslav Ilyin. The boys chose the element “Earth” and created the «Garbage Collector Game», which was defined by the mentors as the winner.
Based on the experience of the first Eco-hackathon and its real value, the Board Members of the Good Deeds ICF decided to hold another series of similar events in the near future. Watch for announcements on the site of the EcoNation project and the site of our foundation.
