Dipping into the History of Ancient Kiev

In the framework of the Road to Life for Every Child program and Good Cause Every Day! promo event the Konstantin Kondakov Charity Foundation organized an exciting visit to the Museum of Kiev History for a multi-child Voytenko family. The children were told our capital’s foundation legend and they looked at excavated scallops, small dippers, coins, pots, warrior’s armour, a lot of pottery and even gold jewellery. The museum-guide let the children hold archaeological finds – the everyday objects of ancient residents.

Humanity uses most of them even nowadays!

The children were delighted with the huge wooden miniature of medieval Kiev, which back then was the capital of tremendous Kievan Rus. They were surprised of how much the city has grown since then!

The children were also very much impressed by modern heroes and our history. When they saw the real boxing gloves of the Klichko brothers, Yana Klochkova’s medals and certificates and the Euro Championship-2012 soccer ball, the children’s faces lit up with excitement, joy and pride for our country!

It was pleasant to observe the children’s interest in the story of the city they live in. That is why our foundation plans to keep stimulating the younger generation’s interest in the history and cultural heritage. After all, with love in our hearts we are building a new world!
