Secrets of Da Vinci’s Science and Art for Children

The Road to Life for Every Child is a program of our charity Foundation within which we carry out a series of fascinating micro-projects! One of them is the visit to the Genius of Da Vinci exhibition in Kiev for children from The Vovk family type orphanage. The exhibition consists of three magical halls filled with incredible inventions of da Vinci! The first one contains mysterious flying machines, all kinds of mechanical devices that forestalled their time.

The children were especially interested in the unusual steam cannon, the principle of which today is used in “ship catapults” on aircraft carriers.

In the second room the children saw hundreds of drawings devoted to the anatomy of humans and animals. Da Vinci reflected his precise observations in his notes, which delight scientists even in the present time.

In the third exhibition room the reproductions of the Italian genius’s paintings can be found. Thoughtful museum-guides described each of the compositions, even those mysterious things, unknown for the most famous art critics! For example, only the Mona Lisa painting contains more than 25 color and compositional secrets. No wonder our young visitors were so happy during the whole exhibition!
