Cognitive Pottery Lesson

Slovyansk is anciently known as a city of ceramics and potters, so these professions are considered especially popular there. To provide boys and girls who are without parental care with perspective profession, local activists decided to acquaint them with fictile art.

As part of the Road to Life for Every Child program the Konstantin Kondakov ICF supported the idea of a local Rozvytok Iniciatyv NGO on the organization of pottery workshop for children enrolled in the local boarding school.

To conduct creative lesson was invited experienced ceramist, who on its own equipment held one-day training on pottery making. All children who attended the workshop were able to show their creativity and acquire skills.

Organizers of the project note that by studying ceramics and pottery at school, students have the opportunity to choose a profession at the stage of school education and it will be much easier for them to choose their future life path. To continue the project, the Rozvitok іnіtsіativ local organization intends to train teachers, who in turn will train pottery children.

Such workshop became the first step towards expanded training programs of pottery for children and adults in Slavyansk and beyond.
