LINOLEUM: Contemporary Animation Festival

On October 3-20 in Kiev the LINOLEUM International Festival of Contemporary Animation and Media Arts takes place. It is an animation competition in the format of an exhibition: the “exhibits” of this international festival presented in the halls of the “Lavra” Kyiv city art gallery. The works of the contestants from 40 countries are available in our capital. As a part of the Good Cause Every Day! promo event by the Konstantin Kondakov Charity Foundation more than thirty inmates of the Tripolskiy special boarding school attended the Festival of Animation.

The kids attended a workshop at which the director of animated films, cartoon designer and a winner of international competitions Oleg Pedan from the Ukranimafilm art studio showed how to make puppets for cartoons and how they come to life on the screen!

The children were also able to see the kid’s animation program at the comfortable padded stools in a spacious hall. It should be noticed that works of the best directors, animators from around the world are shown at the festival. In Ukraine this cartoons are for the first time.

After attending the LINOLEUM unique festival of animation every child entered the world of the author’s creativity and saw the process of creating fairy-tale characters. The representatives of the Foundation believe that the guys had a great leisure and learned many new things. For those results with love in our hearts we are building a new world!
