“Master of the Elements” Workshop

The Konstantin Kondakov Charity Foundation together with the Vesela Nauka laboratory of scientific entertainment organized an educational workshop for students of the Tripoli special boarding school of the Kiev region. An interactive session in which the children discovered the laws of nature, was held as a part of Good Cause Every Day! promo event. Ancient Greeks believed that the Universe consists of four elements: air, water, earth and fire.

This is not surprising, as the above-mentioned components of nature surround us.

In modern physics these concepts correspond to states of matter such as solid, liquid, gas and plasma.

The boys and girls made entertaining experiments with air, water, earth and fire elements. On the air experiments the kids learned how to make fog in a bottle and also checked the force of their breathing. Water experiments also surprised the young scientists; everyone saw that it is possible to make foamy volcano and create a real tornado. The host Professor Molekula also performed a «lazy coin» to the children and showed how to make a coin to stick to the hands. All the boys and girls mostly liked experiments with fire; everyone was able to make a light bulb work without batteries and played with a laser.

At a scientific lesson the children increased their knowledge about the world and became acquainted with the basic physical concepts and methods of experimentation. For those results with love in our hearts we are building a new world!
