Flower Magic from Oshibana Expert Artists
Within the Smile Makes Everyone Happier program and the Good Cause Every Day! promo event the Konstantin Kondakov Charity Foundation organized an exciting tour for a multi-child Nediak family to the Kiev Museum of books and bookprinting, where a unique exhibition of “live” pictures is now taking place. Unusual works were presented to the children – the nature itself served as a material for them. Yes, do not be surprised: all the products were made out of dried plants, flowers, bark and even poplar fluff!
Such unusual techniques are used in an art called oshibana. As one of the expert artists told us: “oshi” is the Japanese for “compressed”, therefore, plants before being put to use, should be held under pressure.
We were pleasantly surprised at such a variety of products and creativity that was shown by domestic artists-florists – they had won rewards at many international competitions. The multi-child Nediak family could try their hand at the master class conducted for them. The children made magnets of flowers with their own hands! And the girls from the Nediak family proved to be very imaginative and made wonderful oshibanas.
This tour not only gave the children not only new impressions and knowledge, but also helped them to better understand and take a fresh look at the beauty of our nature, which makes us very happy, because with love in our hearts we are building a new world!
